Horse insurance with liability coverage was certainly a life saver for my uncle who lives in the village from where I come. The accident was absolutely unexpected and the damage made to the neighbor was not even significant, but what made the issue a problem was the fact that my uncle and his family had a conflicting situation with their neighbor long time back and since then they have not been in talking terms. Both would always try to find a reason to show the other their upper hand. I am in no way saying that my uncle is the better man, I guess both the parties are to be blamed.

Unfortunately, this time when they gave a go at it I was there. I honestly don’t like it when people start fighting. It makes me depressed to the core. This is one of the reasons why I hate following news. I don’t think that when newspapers were introduced they were done with the intention of circulating every sad thing that is happening around, especially not the bad and shocking ones. They were only supposed to be a part of it and the rest was supposed to include important achievements, great work and other notice worthy things.

However, that does not seem to be the case today. Every time you pick the newspaper or tune into a news channel you can hear about countries preparing for war, people doing things that best suit the animals, shocking tragedies and likewise. This is still not the worst part. The worst part is that the more hideous the news get, the more people like to follow it. It’s like a theatre where the villain is worshipped. Well, how can you complain about countries warring against each other, when you can’t get your uncle to reconcile with his next door neighbor? I just hope that the kids will not continue the tradition.

It is only in recent times that the words ‘green’and ‘eco’have become acceptable and cool in everyday society. Before this time, people used to categorise anyone who dared to say the word eco as a sandal wearing hippy, who needs to get a job. Now it seems like it is cool for everyone in the office to be making changes to their lives in order to become greener. There are even contemporary designer jewellery makers who are making eco jewellery these days.

So I am here, wondering to myself when the same might be true of the word ’vegan.'If you dare to mention that word to anyone at the moment they may look at you as if you had created a bad smell in the room or had said an offensive comment. Why is this?

A persons choice to become vegan, is usually due to a desire to cause a little harm to other living creatures as possible. Now I understand that in this society today, it is going to take a long time before people are willing to make whole scale changes in their lives in terms of the amount of meat and dairy that they consume, but why do people look at you funny when you have decided to make this choice for yourself?

Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace

If everyone tried to cause as little suffering and pain to all other creatures on the earth, would it not be a much better place for it? No fighting, no wars, no animal cruelty - it doesn’t sound all that bad to me!

I live in hope that in another 20 years veganism might be as popular as green living has become today and that everyone can begin to care more about other living things on this planet, it would be a start if people began to care more about the way they treat their fellow humans. We would all surely benefit from that.

More and more pressure has been applied in the past five years for businesses to clean up their act and jump on the energy efficiency drive. With fossil fuel reserves due to run out in the next twenty five years, now is the perfect time for all companies to start doing what they can to invest in fuel efficient technologies. One such company has already had the jump on most.

Telecity is a globally recognised data storage company with 26 outlets across the UK and the rest of Europe. With the increased need for businesses to have secure and safe storage centres for their IT infrastructure, it is hardly surprising that the data storage business has become so large. With customers including the BBC (who outsourced all their storage several years back to Telecity – then known as Redbus) and Facebook, demand for storage has reached a height never before seen. As a result the power required keeping companies like the BBC and Facebook running has seen a massive increase in the past five years.

Fortunately, Telecity are on the ball and began looking at new technologies to increase efficiency and save energy at its centres a while ago. Energy efficient fans and variable speed drives have brought the company a return on investment within a year and they forecast an average of 10% energy saving to be made at their data centres across the UK and Europe over an annual period. Considering the amount of power and heat pumping through these centres, this is a remarkable achievement. With utility costs also rising in the UK and set to rise globally in many cases over the rate of inflation, we can expect to see many more data centres adopt a greener approach.

Many modern businesses need to be looking at making savings on energy consumption sooner rather then later. Not only does it have a cost impact on the bottom line margins, but it could prevent a future energy crisis that will affect the whole world. Fossil fuels are running out despite what oil companies would have us believe. Alternative and cleaner energy sources will have to be a reality sooner or later. At the rate of consumption that the world is on, sooner is more likely and we have a good opportunity to avoid complications down the line by acting now. Companies like Telecity are to be commended for their continued efforts in making important changes now to prevent problems later.

In the densely populated Europe, countries fear that the recent situation in the UK that exposed to country to severe social disturbances, would provoke further public unrest on the continent. No matter whether we are talking about the Diesel Swindon suppliers or the French jewellery dealers, the people from Europe now live in fear. And apart from the big countries that accommodate more minority backgrounds, the Netherlands is one of the EU member states that has expressed serious concerns about its public safety.

According to Dutch leading politicians, the situation in the UK revealed some serious weaknesses in the governance of the masses in Europe. Among many things, inability to integrate people from the minority backgrounds has led to severe criminal activity development. Holland is suffering from the same problem as the UK in terms of unresolved public issues - one of them is the densely populated areas in the cities where the people live in a criminally active community the needs of which have not been properly addressed.

Thus, if following the example of its UK fellows, the Dutch minority criminals might also engage in such rioting around the big cities in the country. The problem is that they have been generally neglected as a problem and the soft, UK-like laws in the country have allowed for the development of certain criminal activity without addressing. The Dutch authorities are thus increasing the peace keeping police officers in the country and would develop potential peace-preserving strategies to ensure public safety and prevent any disturbances caused by the criminally active public layers.

While we are searching for the best Hotel Looe can offer, we pay little attention to the conflicts that have ended ling time ago but at still persist in the world. Eastern Europe was shaken by a military crisis more than a decade and a half ago and since then no problems have occurred between the then enemies - Serbia and Bosnia. However, I still wonder why the NATO forces exhaust resources and men to fuel the tension in the region by supporting a military group to patrol the conflict areas of over 15 years old political problem.

Firstly, this is a problem since it encourages conflicts. Seeing military officers and soldiers, people in the region would continue thinking that nothing is over, that peace has not come to an end and that there is still room for aggression. Thus they will not get used to tolerance, to understanding and mutual cohabitation and peace - the conflict parties would remain such until they start accepting each other as equal people without the necessity of being guarded as if they still have no understanding. So what NATO is doing is not supporting the peace, but inbuilding a new set of tension and problems for the regions that already suffered a major military crisis.

Secondly, such operations exhaust a huge amount of resources - financial, military, human and local resources. With this expenditures, the NATO forces could have interfered more successfully in preserving Africa from civil wars, saving children in South Asia from child labor in conflict areas or working for a better understanding between the countries in the Middle East.

The war in Libya started officially in March with series of public disturbances. Yer, there seems to be no peace and agreement between the actors. The country is famous for being oil rich, a big exporter of fuels, an important red diesel supplier for Europe. And this might be the focus of the war - the control over the riches of the country. The obsessive leader is still in a state of war and the efforts of Western forces to strike him down seem to be of no effect.

This is the reason why peace in the region is something virtual - something yet to be achieved. Months of extensive attacks, media statements and prognosis of how long the leader would be withholding his fortress capital city proved all wrong. NATO forces are apparently not making enough to achieve their goal and preserve the life and well being of the public and the war continues.

Peace is, however, essential for the country. Its economic development is crushed, its organised public order is disturbed and people are dying almost every day. Being a country of resistance to Western influence, Libya is still a destination of doubt of how much can the West contribute to the establishment of peace in the region. And while the Arab problems in the middle east seem to be ending slowly, except for Syria that remains the last bastion of Arab resistance on the Arab peninsula, Northern African Arab states are still fighting. The question ahead is can peace be achieved in the near future or the NATO prognosis of only two months long war with Libya are just a splash of dust in the eyes of the general tax-payer who finances the NATO operations in the country.

If you ask me, the reason we are all in dire straits in this world of ours is to do with listening: here is what I mean.

Take a UN meeting for example. Imagine yourself as the US President, whoever that may be, and imagine that the things you are hearing are annoying you. So you switch off. Instead of forming an opinion biased towards what you should be hearing – the real truth as the other people around you see it – you form one based towards what is stuck in your mind as being correct. Thus because you are the President, when you go back home you take your highly biased opinion with you. The problem? The other people of the world don’t quite see eye to eye…but there’s very little they can do about it. You are the US President after all!

If you ask me, it’s all down to listening or not listening. It’s basically the same as a couple arguing and one side refusing to actually take on board that information and deal with it. Now magnify this a billion-fold and add a lot more people and politics into the mix and you can see how big massive problems arise…

That’s not to say I think we can’t have peace. It’s just that while listening is so alien to so many people, and other people are only interested in getting their asbestos claim sorted and are in a world of their own, we will suffer.

But you can do your bit, always remember that! Listen, form an opinion which is well-rounded, and you’re already changing the direction, however small.

The rebellions in Libya continue with full force and protesters and army clash again on the 18th of March. However, the careful considerations of the UN Security Council finally reached a satisfactory result where the no fly zone was officially agreed by the participating nations. The US has remained silent but Germany, France and the UK have announced they are ready to deploy troops and control the no fly zone area by preventing the use of force on civilians and protesters by the Libyan army and the forces loyal to Gaddafi.
The political considerations started late in the evening yesterday when the politicians from the UN gathered to discuss the sanctions to be imposed on Libya. Colonel Gaddafi, in a moment of madness and fear, threatened all nations from the south of Europe with attacks if they accept the military sanctions to be imposed on Libya. This, on th other hand, provoked a great success of the no fly zone in Libya when the measure was voted in the UN security Council.
Even the skeptical Russia and China did not vote against the measure thus not putting a veto on the decision. Germans, French and British were quite relieved as they were waiting for the adoption of the merit against the Libyan army and colonel. Britain has already done the preparations of its troops and might send army forces as soon as necessary, so has been done in France and Germany is preparing. Saudi Arabia has also expressed willingness to support the no fly zone with military personnel.
And while even the red diesel suppliers have left Libya, the country continues to suffer from the attacks of the army and the weak rebels that somehow manage to hold some strategic positions. Intervention from the Western World is now necessary.

The NATO is organizing a major meeting today, 10th March, in order to determine the measures it would undertake in order to prevent future violance in Libya. The country is already shaking in a civil war where rebels and Gaddafi supporters clashes devastate the country. NATO and the EU are trying to impose limitations on the use of force of the military against the rebels and consider future steps that might help the prevention of violance.

The organizations meet after the recent battles between people and army devastated Libya’s self storage oil units near Benghazi. The Eastern city already lost nearly 19% of its available oil stored in the nearby areas. The victims continue to increase in number and the medical system in the state cannot adequately respond to the problems. Colonel Gaddafi announced that the he will not step down as a leader of the country and this inspired further clashes across the country.

Accoording to NATO officials, Libya might be imposed a “free sky"area and thus airforce would not be used against the rebels. The EU is also considering military steps in terms of humanitarian aid - according to the organization military forces are the best choice for providing quick and secured humnatirian supplies to the injured people in the clashes.

However, China and Russia are doubting whether the use of military forces and “free sky"areas are peaceful measures for preventing clashes. Limiting Libyan airspace and deploying troops in an act og aggression from the Western World and some leaders fear Iraq-like consequences.

I keep seeing adverts in newspaper for second hand cars. This ordinarily wouldn’t catch my eye – I already own a perfectly serviceable one which I might as well keep for now – but in the case of the supplement I was reading this morning, the second hand cars are quite unusual in their quality.

The Telegraph’s motoring section often carries a handful of adverts for Ferraris or Aston Martins that are surplus to requirements, nestled between James May’s column and some other ads for prestige car insurance and posh looking wooden garages. The unwanted supercars sell at prices ranging from £25k for a nineties DB7 to about £100k for a top flight Bentley or something of that nature. Today, though, I saw several adverts for Rolls Royce Phantoms, the baby Rolls whose name I have forgotten, and even a few Veyrons. Bugatti Veyrons for sale in an ordinary newspaper.

This raises a few questions. Firstly, who is selling them? Of course, the credit crunch affects us all in different ways, but surely the super rich aren’t that badly affected? Anyway, wouldn’t they have sold them during the actual credit crunch, in 2008 or 2009? Why now, in 2011 when the recession is finally on the mend?

What’s more is that the adverts are in the Telegraph. This seems like a fairly ambitious stab in the dark on the part of the agent or dealer or whoever places the advert. Obviously the paper is going to reach a large audience, but probably only one or perhaps none of that audience has anywhere near the £800,000 asking price for the Enzo, or the £1.2m for the Bugatti Veyron.
